Acceptable Use Policy

Conduct that is not permitted on INTERNSHIFT, and how we enforce it.

Version
1.0
Effective
8 August 2026

Prohibited for everyone

  • Impersonating a person, company, or institution.
  • Posting unlawful, deceptive, harassing, hateful, or explicit content.
  • Scraping, bulk-collecting, or reselling profiles, listings, or contact details.
  • Probing, overloading, or circumventing platform security or rate limits.
  • Uploading malware or content designed to compromise another user.
  • Moving conversations off-platform to avoid safety controls.

Prohibited for employers

  • Requesting any payment, deposit, training fee, or purchase from a candidate.
  • Advertising an opportunity that does not exist or that you are not authorised to offer.
  • Misstating compensation, duration, location, or work mode.
  • Presenting unpaid productive work as a learning placement.
  • Setting eligibility criteria based on protected characteristics or on requirements unrelated to the role.
  • Asking for identity documents, bank details, or payment information through platform messaging.
  • Using candidate data for anything other than assessing the application you received.

Prohibited for candidates

  • Submitting false qualifications, fabricated evidence, or work that is not yours.
  • Applying on behalf of another person.
  • Sending bulk, automated, or repetitive messages to employers.

Reporting

You can report a listing, message, or user from the place where you encountered it. High-risk reports receive immediate protective action while we review.

Never pay to apply. If an employer asks you for money, report it and stop the conversation.

Enforcement

Depending on severity we may restrict a listing, limit an account, suspend access, or remove an account. Decisions are policy-based, recorded, and explainable.

Automated signals may prioritise a review, but a person makes the final enforcement decision. Where appropriate you will receive a reason and an appeal route, and appeals for high-impact decisions are reviewed by someone other than the original decision-maker.
